Thematic discussion 2: Bridging AI divides - Global Dialogue on Artificial Intelligence Governance - Day 1.
Bridging AI divides: capacity-building, access and digital foundations- 4(b) capacity gaps, with a view to leveraging existing United Nations and multi-stakeholder mechanisms to support AI capacity-building to bridge AI divides, facilitate access to AI applications and build capacity in high-performance computing and related skills in developing countries; 4(g) the development of open-source software, open data and open artificial intelligence models.
- Structured multistakeholder conversations organised around the proposed thematic clusters derived from the areas identified in the modalities.
- Will be held in breakout format, with up to two thematic discussions taking place in parallel.
- Thematic discussions will be co-chaired by a Member State and a relevant stakeholder.
- Possible format could include brief scene-setting interventions, including from members of the Independent International Scientific Panel or other relevant experts, followed by a moderated panel discussion. These discussions will then be followed by remarks from Member States and relevant stakeholders, based on prior inscription.
- Discussions will help surface practical policy and cooperation insights, as well as possible priority actions, for consideration in the Co-Chairs' summary.
